Abstract
The aim of this study is to reveal the differences experienced in secondary schools with different school culture under the influence of digital culture, the similarities, differences and conflicts faced by students, teachers, administrators and parents (stakeholders) in the use of technology and their suggestions for solving the conflicts encountered. The sample of this study, which was designed according to the case study among the qualitative research methods, was determined according to the criterion sampling method, which is one of the purposeful sampling methods. Interviews were held with students studying in a total of 3 secondary schools, namely general secondary school, state imam hatip secondary school and private secondary school located in Karşıyaka district of Izmir, teachers, administrators and parents of students. A total of 122 people, including 72 students, 29 teachers, three administrators, and 18 parents, participated in the interviews conducted on a voluntary basis. The interviews were made by taking notes. The obtained data were analyzed by the method of content analysis. Data sets were created on the interview texts and coded with open coding method. Categories were created by determining the common aspects between the codes. Findings obtained in the next stage were interpreted in detail. The research found that most of the stakeholders' views on the differences in school culture under the influence of digital culture are positive and there are negative differences as well as positive differences. However, one teacher only reported negative opinions about the use of technology in the learning-teaching process. The conflict that all stakeholders in all schools have similar and different in technology use purposes and the conflict they encounter in using technology is among the results of the study, in which teachers and parents think that students use and will only use technology for entertainment purposes. In the light of these results, it is recommended to give seminars on the use of technology to resolve the conflicts that stakeholders encounter in using technology.
