Abstract
Investigation of Some Organochlorine (DDD,DDE,DDT,Lindan,Endrin) and Polychlorinated Biphenyl Residues (PCB 28 ve PCB 118) in Chicken Egg in Ankara Province and its DistrictIn this study it is aimed to adapt a method with benefiting from some validation parameters and some method performance criterias and to analyse some OC and PCB residue levels with this method in chicken eggs which are produced and consumed in Ankara and its district.This study was carried out between the dates June 2008- September 2008, by collecting 50 eggs from local markets, 50 eggs from chicken farms in Ankara and analyses were carried out in Central Veterinary Research Institute which belongs to Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. DDT, DDE, DDD, Endrin, Lindan, PCB 28 and PCB 118 pesticide residues were analysed. Method adaptation was benefited from the studies of Lehotay et al and Di Muccio et al.While method adaptation was studied, 10 ng/ml, 50 ng/ml, 100 ng/ml, 500ng/ml, 1000 ng/ml standart solutions were prepared, standarts were introduced to gas chromatography-ECD instrument, calibration curves were drawn and corelation coefficients were calculeted. The retention times of the pesticides were DDT 39.332, DDE 33.206, DDD 36.476, endrin 36.734, lindan 19.584, PCB 28 22.750, PCB 118 35.714.The method was evaluted within accuracy and precision which are parameters of validation and method performence criteria.For this evaluation, at 25 ng/ml, 50 ng/ml, 100 ng/ml levels of spikes were prapered in 6 number of batches.For every batch, recovery, standart deviation, relative standart deviation, % relative standart deviation were calculated. At 25 ng/ml mean recoveries were DDT 97,8, DDE 64,6, DDD 91,2, endrin 86,06 lindan 73,06, PCB 28 89,3, PCB 118 75,6. % relative standart deviations were DDT 1,6, DDE 7, DDD 4,7, Endrin 1,9, Lindan 1,77, PCB28 3,8, PCB118 5.The findings were compared to international standarts, and it was evaluated as recoveries and standart deviations were sufficient except for DDE. A trustable, repeatable and sensitive method was adapted. In this study, none of OC and PCB levels of insecticide residues were detected in chicken eggs
