Abstract
The purpose of this study to present how students' individual and team successes has changed with group structure in Computer Supported Collaborative Learning activities. Experimental procedures of the research was operationalized on 54 students (27 girls - 27 boys) from Ayşe Numan Konakçı, Atatürk and Güdül elemantary schools in the 2004-2005 education term. This study was planned and implemented in full randomise design. Students were allocated to three different groups (mixed-girls-boys) randomly, they were informed about the web-site, the tools and how to study during the activities. After that for the six-week-experiment period the students were asked to prepare individual and group reports after completing their studies about the learning tasks which were assigned to them. The dependent variables of the study are individual task achievement and team task achievement. On the other hand, the independent variables are the frequency of interaction, social ability level, and group structure. In order to determine the relationship among the variables, the one way analysis of variance (ANOVA), independent samples t-test, bivariate and partial correlation, Kruskall-Wallis and regression analysis were conducted. The results show that group structure has no significant effects on individual or group task achievements. Moreover, the results indicate that the frequency of interaction significantly influences individual task achievement, whereas social ability level does not significantly affect individual task achievement.
